Ellie, Surgical Patient Advisor at Cadogan Clinic explains her role in looking after our patients. The most common question asked is “Who is the right surgeon for me”, to ascertain that, Ellie’s team will work through the patient’s needs and expectations, and what you want to achieve from your surgery.
Patients also ask what techniques are used, recovery timings, and costs of surgery – These are all items that are discussed during our initial conversation either over the phone or at the clinic.
The next step is to attend the clinic for your initial consultation where your surgeon will assess you and discuss your expectations post-surgery. Many of our patents will come for one consultation with a surgeon or multiple, it's important you feel ready for your surgery before you arrange it.
On the day of your surgery you will speak again with your surgeon, your anaesthetist, and your nurse team for the day. This is the perfect time to ask any final questions ahead of your surgery and address any concerns you may have.
All of our procedures are day-case, meaning you’ll be able to go home within one to three hours of surgery. Our specialist nurse team will ensure you’re ready to go with your appointed friend or family member.
Once you get home from the clinic, one of our team will call you the following day to ensure you're recovering well, you'll also have access to a 24/7 nurse number to call with any questions you have.
Your post-operative appointment will be one week following your surgery, your surgeon will also ask that you come to the clinic 6-12 weeks following surgery so we can review your result.
Most patients will return to work approximately one week following the procedure.
One of the key benefits of having your surgery at Cadogan Clinic is that everything is carried out onsite, from your initial consultation with your surgeon, to your surgery and post-operative appointments.
