Relive the amazing moment Philip Boit became Kenya's first ever Winter Olympian, competing in the 10km cross country skiing event at the Nagano 1998 Winter Olympic Games.
After training in Finland in preparation to the Games, Philip Boit won the slot to represent Kenya in the Nagano 1998 Olympic Games. In the 10km classic cross-country skiing, Boit came in 92nd and last place.
As he arrived to the finish line, he had the newly crowned Olympic champion Bjørn Dæhlie waiting to greet him for his achievement as the first Kenyan Winter Olympic athlete.
Philip Boit would still return to the Winter Olympics in two more editions at Salt Lake City 2002 and Torino 2006.
