Our quest today was to fulfil a childhood dream and swim to the amazing Loch An Eilein Castle situated in the Cairngorm National Park. It's absolutely brimming with history not to mention its connection to the infamous medieval figure Alexander Stewart, The Wolf of Badenoch. We did a little bottle hunting but the area was clean so we focussed our attention on the amazing sunken chunks of castle wall that lay below the loch. Hope you like a bit more of a historical flavour on this one! Thanks to our friend Adam who took some nice B roll for this wee film. The Dog cameo at the end is Grant's dog, Luna the Golden Retriever.
The wonderful music featured is by a pair of mega talented musicians, Clara Guldberg Ravn and Johannes Geworkian Hellman. Clara is playing a Ganassi Recorder and Johannes is on the incredibly evocative Hurdy Gurdy. It was recorded in a live session in Stockholm from 2016. The pieces featured are a Saltarello and a Ghaetta, medieval dances popular around the time of the Wolf of Badenoch.
