In a "chance encounter" with security personnel on Wednesday, at least four terrorists were killed. A shootout broke out in the Sidhra bypass section of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway close to Tawi bridge amid thick fog in the morning. Security personnel pursued and halted the truck as it was being driven by the militants toward Kashmir's Sidhra checkpoint. Terrorists launched heavy fire from inside the truck as the police began their search for them. The truck caught fire and the terrorists were murdered in the ensuing encounter. The place from where the terrorists infiltrated is the subject of an investigation. The policeman predicted that after searching the truck, a clear picture would emerge. The truck's driver is being sought after, who fled.
