(21 Feb 2017) UK Brexit Secretary David Davis reassured Latvian citizens on Tuesday that after Brexit they will "have all the rights they have now."
Speaking in Riga, alongside Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics, Davis said Britain would give to Latvian citizens "not just the residence rights, that's public services, it's healthcare, it's all the normal rights that we would give to our own citizens."
Over 100-thousand Latvian citizens live in the UK, a significant number for a small Baltic country whose total population is only two million.
Answering a question about whether the UK is planning to cut aid to Africa and Asia and distribute it to some European states in hopes of a better Brexit deal, Davis said it was "wholly implausible".
