Just went you thought fully electric cars couldn't shock you anymore, the 2025 Polestar 4 arrives with no rear window. Yep, that's right; its rearward visibility is completely dependent on – you guessed it – a so-called digital rearview mirror, which is exclusively powered by a camera. And that's it.
But, of course, there's more to the Polestar 4 than just its divisive design, as it's also looking to compete in an increasingly crowded premium mid-size SUV segment, which is currently led by the BMW iX3, with the new Audi Q6 e-tron waiting in the wings. As such, the Swedish-Chinese model better be good if it's going to go tyre to tyre with the Germans.
And in this expert review, CarsGuide Managing Editor Tim Nicholson finds out if the Polestar 4, indeed, has what it takes in reality to find plenty of buyers. After all, with single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants available from launch, a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 610km, and a 0-100km/h sprint time as quick as 3.8 seconds, it sounds good on paper.
