Once a year the roads around Armoy, in Northern Ireland, are transformed into one of the most exciting race tracks you could imagine. The ‘Race of Legends’ attracts big entries as motorcycle road racing pays tribute to the near legendary ‘Armoy Armada.’
In the 1970s Joey Dunlop, Frank Kennedy, Mervyn Robinson and Jim Dunlop honed there craft on the very roads that are now raced over. 2021 saw a welcome return for one of the most vibrant and exciting races on the calendar.
Big names of modern racing were on the starting grid, including Davey Todd, Derek McGee and Adam McLean. In the feature ‘Race of Legends’ Michael Dunlop upheld the family honour by taking an emphatic win, to maintain his dominance of the class.
Guy Martin was also a popular entry in the senior classic event, but wily campaigner Ian Lougher had a trick or two up his sleeve.
