Sambhal (UP), Dec 27 (ANI): RAF soldiers were deployed near Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh on December 27 as the construction work is in progress to build a police post in the empty ground surrounding the mosque. In the presence of the security officials, the Friday prayers were conducted safely without any compromise with the law and order situation in the region.Speaking on the same, ASP Sambhal Shrish Chandra spoke to ANI and said, “A police post is being built here to keep the areas around Sambhal Jama Masjid safe. So that the available police force is present here.”The violence in Sambhal district erupted on November 24 during an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) examination of a Mughal-era mosque. The clashes resulted in four fatalities and multiple injuries among police personnel and locals.The ASI survey followed a petition filed in a local court, claiming that the mosque's site was originally a Harihar temple.
