A controversial cultural heritage law aimed at preventing another Juukan Gorge disaster has passed WA Parliament.
The laws were introduced in the wake of last year's destruction of 46,000 year old caves by Rio Tinto at Juukan Gorge in the Pilbara.
The legislation is aimed at preventing further destruction of sacred sites but Indigenous groups say it won't prevent another Juukan Gorge.
Sue Lannin spoke to Dr Anne Poelina from the Aboriginal Heritage Action Alliance, and she says the laws are ‘inadequate’ in preventing further devastation.
