Reptiles and amphibians are among the most diverse and familiar groups of vertebrates on land. They are found in most habits on Earth, though reptiles have adapted to a more terrestrial lifestyle while amphibians are still dependent on water for at least a portion of their life. In fact, amphibians are thought to represent the descendants of the very first vertebrates to colonize land from the sea!
