CCC 'shocked' as Parliament effects changes made by Tshabangu.
The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has expressed strong disapproval over the Parliament's decision to implement changes in the opposition's parliamentary leadership, following a directive from self-appointed Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu. Tshabangu's unilateral reshuffle, which included the demotion of the Chief Whip and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, has sparked significant internal tensions within the party.
The reshuffle has particularly angered the faction led by Welshman Ncube, which argues that Tshabangu does not have the authority to make such changes without the party's approval. In response to the move, the CCC has approached the High Court in Bulawayo to challenge the validity of the reshuffle, which they claim undermines the party's decision-making process.
Despite the ongoing court challenge, Parliament went ahead with the changes, announcing the replacement of Lynnette Karenyi Kore with Maureen Kademaunga as the Leader of the Opposition. The Chief Whip position was also altered, with Nonhlahla Mlotshwa being appointed to the role, a move which has further fueled CCC's grievances.
