With this year’s election nearing its dramatic conclusion, America’s allies and adversaries in the Middle East are watching the campaigns closely for signs of how the outcome will affect what has been an equally dramatic year for their region. This includes questions about whether the next administration will shift direction on critical issues of war and peace, and whether it will face a compliant or combative Congress. Indeed, even uncertainty about the results of what appears to be a dead-heat vote will send powerful ripples throughout an already tense and conflict-ridden region.
To provide Middle Eastern perspectives on these issues, The Washington Institute hosted a virtual Policy Forum featuring a panel of outstanding journalists from across the region:
Nadim Koteich, general manager, Sky News Arabia
David Horovitz, founding editor, Times of Israel
Barcin Yinanc, independent journalist; former opinion editor at Hurriyet Daily News and editor at CNN Turk
