Sasha Rubel is Regional Advisor for Communication and Information in the UNESCO Regional Office for West Africa (Sahel) based in Dakar. She is a key player in UNESCO’s mission to promote a culture of peace globally through the promotion of communication and information, and specifically through the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity.
Sasha facilitates training sessions in Mali, Burkina Faso and the Gambia, which aim to establish more professional relations between police, security personnel and journalists, fostering an enabling environment for freedom of expression for all citizens.
