A real nice driver, this 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe originally came with a flathead 6 cylinder engine. I rebuilt and installed a 1951 flathead V8 in about 2012 and it now purrs like a kitten.
Working overdrive 3-speed manual, the clutch has been replaced and it's buttery smooth.
The brakes have been gone through and they stop the car on a dime - at least a 1950 dime!
Front suspension has been gone through with new kingpins and tie rod ends. The alignment guy said the upper control arm bushings are a little worn but will not affect driving or alignment.
The body is far from perfect but it's respectable. I've replaced one rusty panel on the rear right side but that needs finishing. Rockers have been replaced and small amounts of rust in each front fender are present.
Frame is fine - I don't think this car was ever hit.
It drives straight and true and sounds, turns and stops great.
I've added an electric fuel pump near the tank so vapor lock is not a problem.
All in all a nice little driver Shoebox that you can turn into something real nice.
