Vale Formoso is a town located in the Castelo Branco region of Portugal - some 148 mi (or 238 km) North-East of Lisbon, the country's capital.


We spent some time here in 2018 on vacation. Many buildings dating back to 16th and 17th centuries. Cobble stone streets. Granite block buildings throughout, many well preserved and modernized.


Small village, minutes from Belmonte and an hour's drive to Serra da Estrela.
