In our "CEO Conversations @ CIS" webinar, CIS’s CEO Sanjiv Sinha, Ph.D. hosted Mr. Jad Daley, President/CEO of American Forests, and Mr. Kevin Shafer, Executive Director of Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to share their insights about trees other nature-based solutions in our communities.
Mr. Daley’s talk focused on American Forests’ work to advance tree equity in cities, remedying systemic inequities of urban tree cover by income and race to bring natural cooling and other multi-faceted benefits to every neighborhood. Mr. Shafer discussed MMSD’s urban Reforestation and Wetland Restoration (RWR) program that has a goal to plant six million trees and restore up to 4,000 acres of wetlands over the next decade.
