Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year, followed by the longest night. So it can be looked on as the time when the Sun is born again. The point at which daylight starts to grow once more.

While the Sun does still occasionally linger, it is but a pale memory of the blissful warmth of Summer.
Winter’s icy breath once more descends upon our surroundings. With this cold comes also beauty, and a stark cleansing brightness.
So we must turn to fire and wood, where nature has stored that radiant energy
Life as ever still moves along with the mighty river, within this ebb and flow our own rhythms can be glanced and better comprehended.
The pace has not abated. No long slow hibernation just yet, but a flurry of activity all racing toward the year’s end.
