Boris Johnson did make infamous comments about ‘bodies piling high’ - and ignored advice to introduce a second lockdown last year, Dominic Cummings has told MPs.
Mr Cummings said he heard the Prime Minister make the remarks, which were reported as “no more f*****g lockdowns – let the bodies pile high in their thousands”, in the PM’s study shortly after his decision to implement a second lockdown on 31 October 2020.
Mr Johnson has said claims he’d made the remark were “total, total rubbish”.
But Mr Cummings said there had been a “misunderstanding” that because Covid-19 nearly killed the Prime Minister, that he took the disease seriously.
And the PM’s former top aide said anyone selected at random from the top 1% of the country, would have behaved differently to the Prime Minister over that period.
