India is set to commission its second nuclear-powered submarine, INS Arighat, enhancing its strategic deterrence capabilities. The 112-meter-long submarine, equipped with K-15 ballistic missiles with a range of 750 km, will be commissioned at Visakhapatnam’s secretive shipbuilding center. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and top national security and military officials will attend the event. INS Arighat will join INS Arihant, operational since 2018, in bolstering India's 'nuclear triad'—the ability to launch nuclear missiles from land, air, and sea.
