Newsnight has learnt that the government's flagship response to the 2011 riots, the Troubled Families programme, had "no discernible" impact on unemployment, truancy or criminality, according to an analysis. We did ask the government for an interview but were turned down. Instead, Evan Davis was joined by Shaun Bailey, who was David Cameron's advisor on Youth and Crime in Downing Street from 2010-2013.
