Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F150 regular cab, we're gonna be doing a test with on our Titan Chains Snow Tire Chains, with V bar links. Part number: TC2828CAM. That's gonna be on tire size 26570R17. These Titan chains are gonna give you superior traction when driving through the mud, snow, or ice. They have V bar studs, which are gonna give you the bite you need. Like most chains, they feature a latter pattern, so they're gonna be great for accelerating and breaking.
One of it's best features, is that it has Cam tensioner's. These are what's gonna snug that chain around your tire and prevent them from being loose or falling off. They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour and they come in quantity of two. Now we'll show you how to get them installed. To begin our test we're gonna be putting tire chains on the rear tires of our F150 cause it's mostly driven by the rear axle.It's a good idea to lay your tire chain, make sure there's no kinks, twists, or any tangles in it.
We also want to be sure that our Cams are in the unlocked position, just as you see them here and that they're gonna be on the outside of our tire. Now let's go ahead and put them in place. I'm gonna grab here in the center and then drape them over my tire. Now we wanna make sure that they're even on both sides. An easy way to check for that is to grab here on the front, feel around to the back and make sure it's about the same.
Then we can finish draping around our tire and we're gonna connect the backside first. What we wanna do is take our hook here and our links and connect them together. We don't want to connect too many links together though because then we won't be able to connect the front side evenly. I know that for this tire size, we're gonna go with the third link. The excess links, we can either cut off or we can't tie off with a zip tie.No let's do the front.
Here in the front we're gonna connect as many links as we can. I know that we can connect to that third link so we're gonna do the same. We wanna push it all the way down on the hook and then fold it backward and then connect it to the keep link here. Now we can take our included tool and start tightening down our Cams. I'm just gonna insert this side here. Give it a turn until it locks into position. As you can see, as we tighten those up, it's slowly tightening our chain in and around our tire. So we'll just work our way around. Now we don't need to tighten down all the Cams, just tighten down as many as you can. That's probably gonna be about it. I'll try one more. Actually we can get that last one. As you can see, we're nice and tight. We can go ahead and repeat the same process with the tire on the opposite side.Once both chains are installed if you'd like to add more security and more tension to your tire chain, you can pick up some rubber adjusters and the manufacturer usually recommends these. You can pick up to with part number TCMA2. Be sure that the hook is installed away from the tire. I'll connect the top and we'll stretch it down from the top and then connect the bottom and then work our way around. Now it is a good idea to drive a short distance, stop, get out, check to see if you need to make any adjustment.
