Peter Mansbridge was the first Australian rider to purchase a Ducati Desert X. The firsts didn't end there. Within days of receiving his bike he set off on an East West crossing of Australia before returning home, a round trip of 13,000 km.
The route that he chose was designed to test out the bike. He was expecting dust in the outback but the mud was something else!
In this video we talk to Peter about this ride, bike set up and the strengths and weaknesses of the bike and what he would change in his set up if he did it again.
It's an informative video for those that have either bought or are considering buying a Desert X and intend on taking it off road. Equally as importantly it's a useful reference for any motorcycle adventurer considering a big trip in the outback, or across the world.
Our thorough test of the Ducati Desert X will be released soon.
