I used to dislike this lens because it did not work with autofocus continuous with my previous sony cameras. But combined with the sony a7III 693 phase detect AF system and the latest firmware update for the lens (version 03), this lens is completely usable with continuous autofocus in video mode.

If you own this lens I highly suggest you to update the firmware to version 03. And if you are in the market for a cheap 50mm native sony lens that works with continuous autofocus lens this is the best option. (keep in mind, it is not G-master quality, but it gets the job done).

Quick story I forgot to mention this in the video: A couple of months back this lens used was at a very affordable price, but lately during this pandemic camera gear prices have been increasing including the price for this lens and I wanted to know why. I did some research and the reason the price of this lens is increasing it because over the years sony's AF systems have improved and lenses like this will provide you a big bang for your buck.
