Frances A Dance 4 Camera Project (a premiere)
Frances was created in collaboration with Carmella Vassor-Johnson (video artist) and Anne-Marie Mulgrew (choreographer) for Frances Gremillion, AMM & DCO dancer (2009-2010). Our collective task was to create a Dance 4 Camera work in four rehearsal/filmings for the stairwell at The Performance Garage. Carmella and Anne-Marie had been collaborating on Dance 4 Camera Projects since 1998 resulting in more than 50 experiments. Many were one shot deals. Here, we wanted to focus more time in one place with one dancer. We rediscovered this footage last year and wanted to share it.
