BMTC ushers in a Revolution - Launches "Intelligent Transport System" for all buses and an App to track city buses
BMTC's "ITS" is first of its kind in India. Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Siddaramiah inaugurated this Public Transport reform on Wednesday along with Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy

ITS, implemented by a State-owned corporation, will have GPS-based Vehicle Tracking System (VTU), Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETM), Passenger Information System (PIS) and a mobile application.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy mentioned that the mobile app will give details on timetable, route information and fare of the buses. Commuters can know the estimated time of arrival that helps them plan their travel. They can even locate the nearest bus stop. They will be connected with the PIS to get the required data.
35 Passenger Information displays are installed in 11 major bus stands-- Kempegowda Bus Station, Shivajinagar, Shanthinagar, Yeshwantpur, Kengeri, Jayanagar, Vijayanagar, Banashankari, ITPL, Mysore Road (MCTC) and Airport. Commuters not using smart phones can get real time information by calling
