World format of skyrunning on Prokletije Mountains / Montenegro.
On Saturday, August 14th 2021, Prokletije National Park, on territory of Gusinje Municipality, hosted around 300 contestants from 18 countries (under Covid travel conditions). Pandemic postponed the premier edition, but enabled the promoters to prepare the terrain and logistics for the most beautiful and most attractive Balkan trail. In organization of Skyrunning association of Serbia & Montenegro and Tourist organization of Gusinje, the first certified trail for the skyrunning world cup was successfully organized. Trails in length of 30 and 50 km, with a lot of vertical ascent and descent parts, welcomed skyrunners and showed them the prettiest moutain tops of wild and unexplored Prokletije Mountains, with altitudes exceeding 2000m.

The organizor’s special thanks goes to the municipality and Tourist organization of Gusinje, who recognized the potential and decided to use their national capacity in the best posible manner. Along the contenstants, Gusinje was visited by a significant number of families who followed their family members and cheered them in their attampt to conquer not-at-all-easy terrain of Prokletije Mountains. The association also sends special and sincerest thanks to Red Bull, company Zlatiborac, brand Woolona & Merino World, as well as to all volunteers and Montenegro's Mountain Rescue Service on their profesional approach and excellent cooperation.
The next event will take place in 13th August next year, and we promise a larger number of participants, as well as top-class runners from around the world. The race not to be missed!
