A watershed moment in the fight for equal pay, the 50th anniversary of the Ford sewing machinists strike was celebrated recently at Dagenham’s Civic Centre.
Joining the Dagenham women were women from Liverpool’s Halewood factory, who went on strike at the same time in solidarity. The Mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rotheram, joined leader of the council, Darren Rodwell, in marking this momentous occasion.
