The National Police Service has termed the Azimio coalition's planned mass action on Monday as illegal saying anyone participating in the protests will be conducting an illegality.
Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei, says Azimio failed to meet the threshold to hold the protests as the law requires that one informs police of intended protest at least three days prior. The Nairobi police boss saying police were only informed of the intended mass action Saturday night.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki has in a statement said that security officers will ensure there is peace amid the planned protests and that no unauthorised access will be allowed in protected areas.
