With Victoria Gold producing at high margins, CEO John McConnell has options.

McConnell spoke to Kitco on Monday.

Victoria Gold (TSX-VGCX) is pride of the Yukon. The company's Eagle Mine is expected to produce 2.4 million ounces of gold over an 11-year mine life.

The company's mine is situated in central Yukon Territory, Canada, approximately 375 kilometers north of the capital city of Whitehorse, and approximately 85 kilometers from the town of Mayo. The property is accessible by road year round, and is located within Yukon Energy's electrical grid.

The company announced plans to increase production. It's Project 250 aims to increase annual Eagle gold production to 250,000 ounces during 2023.

“Project 250 represents a significant near-term, low cost opportunity to increase annual gold production at Eagle,” stated McConnell in a news release announcing the initiative.

With more gold production and good margins, McConnell told Kitco that the company is quickly paying down debt, and Victoria Gold has options.

"We have some very exciting exploration results," said McConnell, who noted that last season's drill results are making their way through the labs. "We are a very high-margin gold producer. Cash is looking good. We are focused on paying down debt. Then we can look at other options for that cash flow: share buybacks, dividends, investing in other juniors or acquiring other deposits."
