The Boeing B52 Stratofortress has been flying for the U.S. Air Force for nearly 70 years since its introduction in February 1955. But now, this strategic bomber is getting a lot of updates to keep it flying possibly until it reaches 100 years of service. One major part of these updates is a huge engine replacement project, so big that it will change the current model name to B52H, after nearly two generations. The updates, especially the engine chosen for the B52H shocked a lot of people in the military industry, let’s see why.
