The Gorges Du Verdon (in Southern France) is a river canyon that is often considered to be one of Europe's most beautiful. It is about 25 kilometres long and up to 700 metres deep. The river Verdon has gotten its name thanks to the surprisingly verdant bright & turquoise-green water, which is also one of the location's distinguishing characteristics.
