Norwich City Guide 2022
We took a day trip from London to explore Norwich - an ancient town in North Norfolk. We're going to share the best places to eat, shop, and explore as we discover the beautiful market town of Norwich. As a bonus, we're travelling with our Corgi, so every location is dog-friendly as well. We hope you enjoy our sustainable travel guide to Norwich.
Fra Kost [Vegan Bakery]
@fraa.kost
We arrived early morning on Sunday and our first stop was a Danish inspired bakery called Fra Kost. Everything here is completely vegan, and the coffee and danish buns were excellent. The perfect first stop on this Norwich travel guide!
Norwich Cathedral
We spent the next hour walking around, and taking in the city, eventually arriving at Norwich Cathedral which has adorned the city's skyline for over 900 years. We found the Cathedral and the people working there warm and progressive, and spent a few moments enjoying the quiet solitude before leaving for lunch.
Where to Eat in Norwich
Norwich is peppered with good places to eat, and we were recommended The Hashery, a brunch spot, as well as the Deli in Jarrolds, a local department store.
JC Pinto [Brunch]

But as we were walking we came across a bustling cafe called JC Pinto, and had lunch here instead. Benaisha enjoyed a veggie burrito while I chowed down on a delicious quesadilla.
Where to Shop in Norwich
After lunch we decided to do a bit of shopping, of which Norwich has a many options including a mall, which we decided to skip, and a local market with small businesses and eateries.
Norfolk Retro [Vintage Store]
@norfolkretro
Instead we walked over to Norfolk Retro -- Benaisha does love a vintage store, and had arranged to meet the founder Laura to learn more about her up-cycled furniture and antiques. Everything is also available on her Instagram page, so don't forget to take a look.
Tofurei [Vegan Cafe]
@tofurei
A few hours later we made our way to Tofurei to meet another small business owner named Jenny, to learn more about her unique tofu concept. She kindly fed us a warm bowl of tofu noodle soup, and the most delicious tofu cheese-cake. Everything here was both gluten and dairy free, but super delicious.
The Gunton Arms
@guntonarms
Benaisha and I visited our last stop of the day The Gunton Arms, a wildlife estate spanning over 1,000 acres. The pub at The Gunton is a must-visit on your trip to Norfolk both for the food and the warm and inviting atmosphere. The unique thing about this pub is the walls are covered in contemporary art, being founded by the eccentric art collector Ivor Braka, who uses the pub as an informal art gallery to display his collection.
We enjoyed a glass of wine, some locally sourced venison, and a generous portion of fish and chips. A perfect ending to a day well spent.
