Fergus Garrett will talk about the comprehensive biodiversity audit undertaken at Great Dixter which showed how an intensive flower garden can be a haven for biodiversity including some of our rarest and most threatened species. The audit revealed that throughout the Great Dixter Estate, it was the ornamental garden which had the richest and most diverse community. Fergus will break down the reasons for this and touch on how the mosaic system at Great Dixter can be replicated and is relevant to gardens large and small and how every space matters.
