We present an excellent extendable alarm compatible with all the FD-60 Wall Mount Detectors. This video explains how to use the unit and connect it to the FD-60 and also demonstrates it under test conditions via bump testing.
The video provides a step-by-step guide on how to correctly connect an FD-60 wall mount detect alarm unit. We emphasize the importance of having the necessary components, including the fixture, power supply, test gas (in this case, H2S), calibration cap, and gas regulator (if using calibration gas) or bump gas.
The circuit diagram is explained, detailing the connections between the fixture's LED, speaker/buzzer, and common line and how they relate to the FD-60 motherboard PCB. We describe the relay terminals (common, normally closed, and normally open) and how they function when the alarm is triggered.
The wiring process involves connecting the common gray line to the GND terminal, tapping 24 volts to the relay's common terminal, and connecting the buzzer and LED lines together to the normally open terminal NO1.
Finally, the alarm is tested using bump gas (an example here is H2S). When the gas concentration exceeds the low alarm level (default: 10 PPM), both alarms should turn on, confirming the correct installation and operation of the extended alarm system.
