In this video we will cover step-by-step IMM 0008 which is a Generic Application form for Canada, in context of Family Sponsorship under Spouse category. Filling up this form correctly is critical to submitting a perfect application and increasing your chances of approval. This form is meant for Principal Applicants (plus dependents, if any) as this will help identify IRCC all applicants on the file.

This video is a continuation of the HOW-TO-FILL-FORM series under Canadian Spousal Sponsorship playlist. The good thing about this form is that the web-form version of the form (if you are submitting your application via the online portal) the questions have remained the same as it were in its predecessor (.pdf) version.

In this video I have covered how to fill and sign the form IMM 0008 and how to submit both using the online portal for permanent residence, or via paper-based application for family sponsorship.

It is one of the many important forms that needs to be provided for sponsoring your spouse in Canada irrespective if you are applying via the paper-based application or via the new online portal for family sponsorship. There is a lot of confusion whether this form generates bar-codes when submitting online, or who is counted as dependents in an application etc. I have tried to cover all aspects of the form in this video.

The all new Online Permanent Residence Application Portal for Spousal Sponsorship in Canada has opened up another avenue of quickening the excruciatingly long process of getting your loved one a Permanent Residence in Canada. But the instructions are still in very nascent stage and not so clear if one is applying without assistance from an immigration agent.
