Egypt now says it is committed to the amicable re-negotiation of the Nile treaty.
Visiting Egyptian assistant minister in charge of African affairs Mona Omar says all the country wants is an agreement that will not threaten Egypts lifeline since the Nile is their main source of water. Omar says the nine riparian states which form the Nile basin commission have already agreed on most of the thorny issues and so far only three remain in contention.
