Riding the Avenue of the Giants is HANDS DOWN the highlight of the trip! The great American coastline is a 10-episode miniseries where I embark on an insane adventure: Attempting to be the fastest human to ride a bicycle from the border of Canada to the border of Mexico along the West Coast.
////FAQS & DETAILS
1. **The Current Fastest Time:** The current fastest known time for this project is 12 days and 12 hours. I’m aiming to break that record with projected goal of 8-9 days.
2. **Self-Supported:** The project is classified as self-supported, meaning that I’ll be responsible for everything myself, but I can still receive assistance from the general public or trail Angels if needed.
3. ** FILM EVERYTHING** I will be filming everything during this trip, the highs and lows, and everything in between. This will pose as the greatest challenge for me because just simply riding my bike from Canada to Mexico is not my main focus, it’s about telling the story. I also did in real time instagram stories and posts + photography so the day DOESNT END when I get to a hotel. There’s hours of work but this is how I am able to finance this trip so…

///// RECAP
Quick Recap: I started the day 65 miles behind schedule. The plan was a brutal 180 miles with 12,000 feet of climbing—no room to fall further behind. With nowhere to stay after mile 113, it was all or nothing.
The legs showed up today, and I cooked! One stop at mile 113, rolled in just after dark. Thanks, Zach, for burrito #10 of the trip.
The Route: Gorgeous start, then crappy highway… until BAM! Avenue of the Giants. The redwoods had me bawling, imagining my future son watching this footage with his own son. Emotional overload!
After that, it was relentless punchy climbs—up, down, up, down. But the legs were on fire, so I loved it. Honestly, today’s route might edge out yesterday as the best so far.
Bike Setup: I finally nailed the rear bag setup—zero sway! Game changer.
Mental Game: Yesterday, I hit rock bottom. Felt like I’d taken on too much. But how could I quit with all the love and support I’m getting? That’s the power of emotional support—it leaves you no option but to keep going.
The better I rode, the better my mind felt, which fed back into riding even harder. Some of you say I’m inspiring, but really, you’re the ones inspiring me. Without you, I’d still be wandering that meadow on a giant elk.
