Singapore's economy contracted slightly by 0.2 per cent in the second quarter, compared with the government’s zero per cent estimate and the 0.8 per cent growth in the first quarter.
MTI Chief Economist Yong Yik Wei said at a media briefing that officials do not expect a technical recession for Singapore, with GDP set to return to a positive quarter-on-quarter growth in the months ahead.
