Every November, the State of Georgia designates certain trout streams as Delayed Harvest. This means these areas are catch and release only, presenting the trout angler unique opportunities to test their skills. Many fly fishing enthusiasts love this time of year as the crowds are smaller, the water is cold and the trout are biting. Georgia has five Delayed Harvest streams. The Toccoa River, Amicalola Creek, Smith Creek, Chattooga River and the Chattahoochee river all have certain sections where delayed harvest restrictions are in place. The state stocks rainbow trout in abundance and will from time to time also stock brown trout as well as a few brook trout. We visited all five of these in five days with the goal of catching three fish at each location. Host Danny Pruitt is a novice fly angler and tries to put what he has learned to the test. Watch and find out if he succeeds at the challenge presented before him. #fishing #flyfishing #flyfishingadventures #flyfishingnation #rainbowtrout #rainbowtroutfishing #browntrout #browntroutfishing #flyrod #Georgia #gadnr #toccoariver #amicalolacreek #smithcreek #chattoogariver #chattahoocheeriver #delayedharvest
