In order to lift safely and efficiently, without smacking the forearm, unpacking the shoulder or tweaking the lower back, employ one of the most important lifting principles: start SLOWLY then accelerate.
This applies to every ballistic lift that begins on the ground, including dead clean, dead snatch, swing, clean, and snatch.
Begin by pulling the weight for the first 1cm or so slowly, maintaining tension and feeling the weight. Then accelerate while still maintaining perfect tension and form.
In the swing movements (Swing, Clean, Snatch), this means dragging the weight on the ground for a tiny distance before pulling it off the ground into backswing.
