2000 Logical Mirage Series, round six from Wakefield Park, NSW. With five pole positions and nine wins from five rounds, Warren Luff has stamped his authority on the 2000 Mirage Series. Rarely far behind, this is Dean Evans' last real chance to upset the Luff train and with Gavin Harvey dropping out of the series, there are others snapping at their heels.
This was the second year of the Australian Mirage Series, held over six rounds, and was the first major one-make racing series since the 1995 Suzuki Cup. Drivers included Warren Luff (V8 Supercars), Gavin Harvey (son of Bathurst legend John), Dean Evans (Lotus, Tarmac rally), Mark Eddy (GT Championship), Gary Young (prod cars), Barrie Nesbitt (prod cars) and guest drivers including Richard WIlkins (TV personality), Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band), Matt Coleman (Audi Super Touring), Aaron McGill (Super Touring) and Ed Ordynski (rally), Nick Bates (rally), John Henderson (Super Touring) and Paul Morris (Super Touring).
