The Ottawa Senators did not make a pick in the 1st Round of the 2022 NHL Draft and that's fine because they acquired Alex DeBrincat! The Sens traded the 7th and 39th overall picks in this draft and a 2024 3rd Round pick to acquire the 40+ goal scorer. Rumours were swirling that the Sens were going to use the pick to dump Matt Murray's contract to Buffalo but Murray nixed that deal due to his No Trade Clause thankfully. Even though the Sens didn't pick, the 1st Round was full of surprises to cover! And what is are some of the best available players remaining in the draft?
