What a debut!
Statuette is the first Europe winner for Triple Crown hero Justify after this mighty first racecourse appearance for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore at Navan.
This strong and imposing two-year-old filly has a sensational pedigree, being by Justify out of Group 1 winner Immortal Verse. Statuette is closely related to Tenebrism, brilliant winner of the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes last season for the same trainer and jockey combination.
This form looks to have some substance too, with Olivia Maralda - part-owned by Aston Villa's Philippe Coutinho - slated for a debut in Group 3 company by trainer Michael O'Callaghan before making her first start in a decent Curragh maiden and showing promise in that event just a few weeks ago.
Statuette is likely to be a short-priced favourite for the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in a few weeks' time now, and given her physical stature as well as Aidan O'Brien's training methods you'd expect this exciting filly to step forward from this excellent debut effort, too. How high can she fly?
