Island life fishing crew took it to the everglades this week. Brandon took me to an amazing baby tarpon spot deep in everglades national park. We wanted to find the BEST baits for BABY TARPON; We tested 2 of our favorite artificial baits and hook styles to see which one caught the most tarpon. The results were crystal clear! This year has been rough for Florida's waters with algae blooms and unprecedented red tides caused by poor management of our waters. We wanted to go into the park and see if the baby tarpon are still thriving. We found a great tarpon nursery with tons of bait and fish. Walking miles back into the old Florida wilderness to find these fish was awesome. It also gives us hope that if we can fix our water management problems, the fisheries closer to home will become like these areas.
