The Oreland Quarry also known as the Sandy Run Quarry has a good population of largemouth bass and is stocked with trout in the Spring and Fall. A lot of people fish this quarry with live bait, and it completely destroys the bite, but there are other reasons why the fishing is so poor at the quarry. Many people illegally fish without licenses, and don't follow the basic rules, regulations and sportsman like conduct that is expected of an angler. I used to catch a ton of big bass and big trout from the quarry, but the fishing gets worse every year. Illegal fishing at the Oreland quarry is never going to stop, but if you see someone breaking the law it's good to at least inform them that they are doing so.
