Airdrieonians and Albion Rovers fought out a tightly contested derby at the Excelsior on Saturday.

Airdrie got us underway in 24 minutes, poking the Diamonds ahead from close distance. The Wee Rovers hit back soon after, as striker Alan Trouten broke free to clip a cross past the stranded Kyle Gourlay.

Airdrie re-took the lead just before half time, with Scott Stewart getting on the end of Willis Furtado's pass to finish from a tight angle.

Rovers clawed their way back a second time half way through the second period, as some quick passing left the ball at Gary Fisher's feet, who made no mistake, firing high into the net.
