The Story Behind Franck Ribery's Facial Scar
At the age of two, Ribery was involved in a car accident.
He hit the vehicle's windshield because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
Ribery was taken to the hospital and received 100 stitches on his head.
Ribery shared his childhood story in an interview with Canal+ Sport.
"When I was little, people would stare and point at me on the street, saying how 'ugly' the scar was.
Wherever I went, people would look at me."
Having a scar like this from a young age is not easy.
My family also suffered because of it.
Nevertheless, I never went to a corner and cried, even though I suffered.
"They gave me this character and strength.
"This scar motivates me. God gave me this difference. The scar is a part of me, and people will accept me as I am."
It was the scar that led Ribery to etch his name in the history of world football.
