The Arameans are first mentioned in history in an akkadian text about the akkadian king Naram-Sin from the 23rd century BC . And in the texts from the ancient city of Mari in present day Syria in the 18th century BC and in the ugaritic text from Ugarit (Ras Shamra). The Arameans are mention in 3 different sources 1) the Old Testament in the Bible 2) The Assyrian cuneiform inscriptions, and 3) Aramaic inscriptions.
1.The Arameans as people, possess a nations all capacities such as a language, as well cultural and ethnical identity. But its an oppressed people, whose original land is divided between occupational forces. The Aramean people have been a subject for the most brutal massacre known in our modern history. This has been known as the GENOCIDE. The Great powers have recognized the GENOCIDE of the Armenian people was liable to by the evil Ottoman power. The Aramean people is still standing for the spreading of awareness among our people and for the Turkeys recognition of all crimes committed against our peaceful and innocent forefathers. Despite the fact that the Arameans have been scattered all over the world and their historical land has been occupied, there is hope represented by the Aramean youth who are standing for learning their own history and to claim and to get their national rights.
