Why "Rev It Out" Is Bad Advice for Hard Enduro Riding | Traction & Technique Tips
Thanks for tuning in! One of the most common (and wrong) comments I get when showcasing technical riding is: "Rev it out, bro!" Let me break down why this is terrible advice, especially for hard enduro enthusiasts. 🚫 Not only does it show a lack of experience in navigating extreme terrain, but it can also be outright dangerous.
When tackling rocky, log-strewn, or just plain gnarly trails, success comes down to one thing: traction! 🌟 Here's the hierarchy of what matters most in this style of riding:
1️⃣ Traction
2️⃣ Traction
3️⃣ (You guessed it) Traction
4️⃣ Balance & body position
The typical motocross (MX) techniques? Forget 'em—they'll land you in trouble on tough terrain. While a trials rider might breeze through this stuff, MX riders often find themselves stuck or struggling (trust me, I’ve seen it happen time and time again).
In this video, I explain how speed and revving can make technical riding impossible, and why adopting the right mindset and techniques is key to mastering hard enduro. It's all about finesse, throttle control, and patience!
💡 Key topics covered in this video:
Why traction is king in hard enduro
How MX techniques fall short in extreme terrain
The importance of balance and body position
Why "rev it out" is dangerous and counterproductive
👉 Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this video is packed with practical tips to help you tackle technical terrain like a pro.
