Legendary British yachtsman, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, relives his epic solo circumnavigation as a competitor in the 1968–1969 Sunday Times Golden Globe Race. Talking candidly to Emily Harris/Classic Yacht TV, Sir Robin recalls what it took to become the first person to sail solo, non-stop round-the-world. He comments on the 2018 Golden Globe Race – now running again in 2022 – a recently designed event celebrating 50 years since Sir Robin's remarkable feat.
Big thank you to Sir Robin Knox-Johnston for his time, Clipper Round The World Race for using their premises in Gosport and PPL Photo Agency for allowing us to use original licensed photographic stills for illustration.
